Chin correction is often performed during a standard facelift, but there are many individualized techniques to improve a particular problem. In addition, there are several newly developed options, some of which are not surgical.
A customized chin implant to suit the shape and overall structure of your face is a procedure that requires a certain skill and experience to recognize that some chin implants, if done incorrectly, may lead to multiple, newer problems.
In those cases, undoing is better than doing (see corrective surgery), which is what happened to one of Dr. Lipkin’s patients, a young man who should never have had a chin implant to begin with. She advised him to remove it since his face was long enough and once she had completed the procedure, her patient was gratefully satisfied.
